“Gordon’s are absolutely delighted to be working with the Commonwealth Education Trust and the partner schools for our 4th year! This is a huge valuable partnership in developing leadership skills, collaborating on pedagogical ideas and building relationships across the globe. 2024 was a great success for the partnership where we saw school leaders and teachers create significant impact in their school development and with the students. The Gordon’s teachers have also learnt the importance of creativity, leadership and become more reflective practitioners. We are excited to see what the 2025 partnership brings!”

“CET’s help in finding partner schools in Africa has been invaluable. Regular online conversations between Year 9 pupils have enabled them to learn about the educational challenges facing partner pupils and has deepened the understanding of the UN sustainable development goals this generation faces on both sides. It has also been great fun: the buzz, excitement and positivity has been amazing!”

Teacher to Teacher - What to expect

Teachers are matched with others worldwide. They coach and collaborate based on pedagogical targets.

Partner teachers worldwide are in positions of leadership. This means that UK teachers get the opportunity to have a whole-school impact. If they are not currently in positions of leadership, this is great for their own CV and professional development, as it gives experience and a taste of what a leadership position would be like and the influence that they can have.

What’s involved?

  • Leadership Development – Collaborate with international educators in leadership roles.
  • Autonomy & Impact – Choose your own TPD (Teacher Professional Development) focus. Drive your own project.
  • Global Collaboration – Exchange ideas, resources, and solutions with passionate educators worldwide.
  • Professional Growth – Evidence your work towards the UK Teaching Standards for appraisal and CPD.
  • Term-Time Friendly – Four online meetings between January and June, with flexibility in how you share and implement ideas.

A typical partnership timeline (dates are representative)

  • October–November: Matching of UK and international teachers
  • January: Official launch and first meeting
  • February–June: Ongoing collaboration (four key checkpoints)
  • June: Final wrap-up meeting

Let’s be honest
  • It takes initiative
  • You’ll do some of it in your own time
  • But the rewards for your professional growth and personal satisfaction are immense
